Today has been a top day because I have finally been able to get behind the wheel of the Focus for the first time on Corsican roads! We went out and had six solid runs on the soft Pirelli’s this morning and it’s nice to now have a feeling of how the tyres react on this surface. Last night the recce finished and we were then wizz’d straight off to a PR function with all the WRC international press. I’m starting to get to know a few of these guys now which is helping me build a profile within the sport. Now the shakedown is over my co-driver and I will grab a bite to eat at service and then head back to the hotel to run through the recce video. It is pretty important to run through the video of each stage a few times so all the roads and information we made in the notes stays fresh in our minds. There are loads of tight twisting corners in this rally so mentally you have to be really on the ball. After this is the autograph session tonight before the start ramp and then it’ll be an early night for the early start tomorrow! Not the biggest fan of early mornings!
