Hi eveyone
Well after the bike ride we did from Land’s End to John O’Groats it was great to have a bit of relax time with the family on holiday in France. The ride has now broken the £30k donation mark which Scott and I are fairly chuffed with. Last week I travelled to the south for the Goodwood Festival of Speed where both Mikko, I and the guys from Subaru were having a bit of fun showcasing the WRC to the thousands of fans who visit Britain’s biggest motorsport festival. I was able to take passenger rides on all three days so I hope the journalists, guests and friends all enjoyed it thoroughly. It was cool to take my friend and old circuit coach Marc Hynes for a spin up the infamous Goodwood hillclimb and onto the forest stage. He was fairly shocked at the speed we were travelling on gravel and I did glance over to see the occasional despite grab for the sides of the seat as if to brace for a big accident! Always good to see a sealed surface racer with these reactions in a rally car :)
Apart from a couple of PR days it is back into some serious training now ahead of Finland which is one of my favourite events. It’s going to be fast and full of fast WRC contenders so now it’s full concentration until the end of the month and hopefully we can continue to turn out points results.
