| STOBART CREWS PREPARE FOR LOCAL ACTION |

A busy weekend lies ahead for all the British Stobart Motorsport backed crews as they tackle the Pirelli International Rally (18-19 April) in Carlisle; Stobart’s local event.
Mark Higgins and Rory Kennedy will be out in their new MG Super 2000 car in this the first round of the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship. The multiple British Rally Champion will be looking to reclaim his crown and is in confident form after a fine fifth overall finish on the recent Border Counties Rally.
Also seeking glory on the event will be local driver Kris Hall from Appleby. Kris, now a member of the MSA British Rally Academy scheme, will be partnered by Seb Marshall and is contesting the Pirelli National Rally which runs on the Saturday only. This will be the second round of the Fiesta Sporting Trophy UK and Kris will be chasing overall honours after leading for most of the first round in March before mechanical problems put paid to his chances of victory.
Completing the Stobart trio will be rally legend Jimmy McRae and co-driver Andy Richardson. Using their classic Porsche 911, the pair will be competing in the Pirelli Historic Rally and are again tipped for overall victory in this hotly-fought category.
The Pirelli International Rally kicks off from a city centre start in Carlisle on Friday 18 April at 7.15pm with four special stages on Friday night. The action restarts on Saturday morning with competitors tackling 11 more tests before the rally finishes back in Carlisle at 7pm.
