Wow, what a fantastic rally it has been and it’s a great feeling to get the points tally underway for 2008. We also managed some good manufacturer points for the Stobart team this weekend and that is a big boost for me. Scotty achieved his best ever WRC result as a co-driver today so a big congrats to him. Last year this rally was his previous best result so it must be something in the water for our lad from Cumbria.

Unfortunately I’m not staying for the top party here in Mexico tonight because I have a direct flight (well with a quick re-fuel in the Bahamas) straight to Carlisle with Stobart Air. The option to fly straight from Mexico to Cumbria doesn’t come around all that often but don’t worry I’m sure mum and I will be having a few glasses of champagne to celebrate! I’m leaving Scotty boy behind though so hopefully he won’t get up to too much mischief tonight ;)

Well what else can I say bout Rally Mexico... Top-notch weather, supreme steaks, primo promo girls, fanatic fans, tough terrain and an awesome atmosphere. I have had a few incidents over the course of this rally but all-in-all it has been spot on.

Argentina is the next event and I’m really primed for it. We know what to expect of the tyres on gravel now so its game on! Speaking of game on, Gigi and I have a big Paddle Tennis challenge lined up for Argentina on Thursday so if anyone thinks they have what it takes to beat the dynamic duo get down to Rally HQ and try your luck!

Well back home now for a bit of R and R then straight back into the training program

Work hard, train hard and live the dream.

Cheers,
Matt
